Airline Crew Taxes was started by an airline pilot shortly after September 11th. Marco Johnson (yours truly) had been preparing taxes for years prior to creating the company. He was also a tax analyst for a major bank and counts with more than 15 years experience in accounting and finance. Word has spread since 2002 and demand for our service has grown considerably due to customer referrals and client satisfaction. Our combined staff (currently 8) has a combined experience of over 60 years in taxes and accounting. We attend several recurrent training courses yearly to keep abreast of tax law changes and new accounting procedures to enhance our client services. Our staff includes enrolled agents (rare in most tax offices) who are authorized to practice and represent clients before the IRS. We offer expertise in the airline industry and a solid background in tax accounting. This combination guarantees your taxes will be prepared professionally and accurately.
The airline industry is still not in great shape. Many airlines have obtained concessions from their employees (while others are in the process of negotiating concessions). Pay cuts have just about become the norm. Some experts say things should get better, but for now, it is still a struggle for survival. Recent firm orders for aircraft from Continental Airlines, Southwest Airlines and the continuous delivery of smaller jets to “regional airlines” may be indication that a turn around is underway for some of the airlines. Some major airlines are starting to recall furloughed pilots and flight attendants and more airlines have started to hire off the street. This has been the best year for new hire pilots and flight attendants since September 11. Regardless of what your particular situation may be, or how your airline is doing, one thing we all can do is protect our personal finances. Now, for all you skeptics out there who use tax software or go to a non specialized service to supposedly save on tax fees, you could be costing yourself hundreds or thousands of dollars. Use of the “Tax Organizer” allows us to expedite the process and minimize phone calls, emails, and faxes. You can use our paperless format to submit any necessary forms on our secured website. We will also be offering a quick turn around on your tax return, same day service in some cases (walk-ins most every time). Or simply drop off your documents at the start of a trip and pick up your completed file at the end of your trip.
